Hannah Bolte

Director

Hannah leverages her unique background in business and statistics to lead the Indiana Statistical Consulting Center (ISCC). She directs all center operations, provides expert statistical guidance to a diverse clientele of researchers and industry partners, and trains graduate students in applied consulting. Her deep understanding of client needs is informed by her long history with the center, which began as an intern in 2014. She holds an M.S. in Statistical Science, a Master of Business in Finance, and a B.S. in Business Finance.

Hanush Kumar

Senior Consultant

Hanush applies research design, advanced statistical modeling, and machine learning to help academic, clinical, and public-sector teams make data-driven decisions, with strengths in mixed-effects models and causal inference. Hanush earned an M.S. in Statistical Science from Indiana University Bloomington and a B.Tech in Engineering from IIT (BHU) Varanasi.

Chen Chen

Statistical Consultant

Chen is an epidemiologist with expertise in study design, biostatistical modeling, and population health research. Her work spans infectious diseases, cardiovascular health, and substance use. She supports academic, clinical, and public health projects by providing methodological guidance, data analysis, and help with grant development. Chen earned her Ph.D. in Epidemiology (with a minor in Environmental Health) from the Indiana University School of Public Health. Her background is in public health and medical science, holding both a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) and a Bachelor of Medicine.

Justin Lin

Statistical Consultant

Justin's research is in Statistical Dimension Reduction and Machine Learning. He is a Ph.D. candidate in the Mathematics Department at IU. He received a M.A. in Mathematics from IU and a B.A. in Mathematics from Northwestern University with a Minor in Computer Science.

Jocelyn Mineo

Statistical Consultant

Jocelyn's interests include research coordination, project management, biostatistics, R programming, data visualization, scientific writing. She received her M.S. in Biostatistics from the University of Pittsburgh.

Elizabeth Ray

Consulting Associate

Elizabeth provides statistical education on IU's campus including classroom lectures and workshops on statistical software and methods. She is a Ph.D. candidate in the Psychological and Brain Sciences department at IU with a minor in Statistical Analysis & Theory. She earned her MS in Psychology in 2022 as well as a BS in Psychology, Philosophy, and Sociology with concentrations in social research and ethics at the University of Indianapolis.

Neelamberi Klein

Consulting Associate

Neela specializes in experimental and survey design, as well as race and gender research. She is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences. She has a MS in Experimental Psychology from William & Mary, and a BA in Psychology from University of Richmond.

Quang-Anh Ngo (Alex) Tran

Consulting Associate

Alex's research is in stereotyping and prejudice, intersectionality, and social roles. He also has experience in teaching Introduction to Statistics and the R Programming Language. Currently, he is a Ph.D. student in the Psychological and Brain Sciences department at IU with a minor in Quantitative Methods in Behavioral Sciences and Data Science. He received his B.A. in Psychology and Education from Colgate University.

Emily Norton

Consulting Associate

Emily specializes in brain and behavior relationships associated with substance use and cognitive functioning, as well as neuroimaging methodology and neuropsychological assessment. She is a clinical psychology Ph.D. student in the Department of Psychology at University of Georgia. She has a MS in Experimental Psychology from William & Mary, and a BA in Psychology from Elizabethtown College.

Addison Montroy

Consultant

Addison researches early developmental processes, focusing on infant attention and parent–child interactions. She has expertise in behavioral research design and advanced quantitative methods, including dyadic data analysis, mixed-effects modeling, and sequential analysis. She also has teaching experience in research methods and statistical analysis using R. She is a Ph.D. student in Psychology at the University of Georgia, where she also earned her M.S. in Psychology. She received B.S. degrees in Psychology and Child and Family Development from Georgia Southern University.

Jessica Brantez

Consultant

Jess’s areas of technical expertise include survey methods, mediation analysis, effect modification modeling, and data visualization. Their research focuses on mental health disparities, social networks, and suicide. Jess is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology at Indiana University. She also has a B.A in Sociology from Dartmouth College.

Michael Trosset

Advisor to the Director and Professor of Statistics

Michael joined the faculty of the Department of Statistics in 2006 and became the director of the newly formed ISCC soon after. He served as Executive Director for many years when he was Chair of the Department of Statistics. He now advises the Director. He received his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, and brings expertise in techniques for Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) and Optimization.
